Information you give us: name, email address, profile details, and anything you add to the app (specimen photos, notes, collection entries, community posts, listings, reviews). Information created when you use the app: scans you run, sites you save or visit, field sessions, achievements, and in-app activity. Device and technical information: device type, operating system, browser, and approximate location. Precise location is collected only if you grant location permission. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers; payments are processed by Stripe.

We use your information to: • Run AI mineral identification and your collection • Show maps, nearby sites, seasonal alerts and field recommendations • Operate community features (Trade Board, Rock ID Battle, leaderboards) • Track XP, streaks and achievements • Improve identification quality using aggregated, de-identified data • Send transactional emails (receipts, alerts you've turned on) • Keep the service secure and prevent abuse We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.

We use Google Analytics to understand which features are used, only after you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. If you decline, analytics cookies are not set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser. We do not show ads and we do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We use browser storage for essentials such as keeping you signed in, offline field data, and remembering your cookie choice.

Location is used only when you grant permission, and only for: • Map features (nearby sites, proximity alerts) • Field session GPS tracking, if you turn it on • Location-based daily challenges You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Stealth Mode (Profile → Privacy) obscures your location in community features. Child accounts never share location publicly.

We share personal information only with: • Service providers who run the app for us: Base44 (hosting, database, sign-in and file storage), Stripe (payments), Google Gemini (AI identification of the photos you submit), and Google Analytics (usage analytics, only with your consent) • Other users, when you choose to post publicly (discovery photos, listings, reviews, spottings) • Authorities, when required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the safety of users Community content you post is public unless you set it otherwise. You can delete your posts at any time.

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can: • Export your data at any time from the Collection Export page • Delete individual specimens, sessions or posts at any time • Ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@rockhoundgo.com. We complete deletion requests within 30 days. Aggregated, de-identified data (for example mineral occurrence heatmaps) may be kept after an account is deleted.

RockHound-GO is not intended for children under 13 to use on their own. A child under 13 can only use the app through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian in the Parental Dashboard. Child accounts: • Never share location publicly • Have community content filtered • Cannot use the Trade Board or marketplace • Cannot have payment methods Parents can review, change or delete their child's information at any time in the Parental Dashboard or by emailing privacy@rockhoundgo.com. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13 without a parent's consent, we will delete it.

We protect your information with measures including: • HTTPS encryption for data sent between your device and our servers • Encryption of stored data by our hosting provider • Role-based access, so internal tools are limited to authorized staff No online service can guarantee perfect security. If you find a security issue, please report it to security@rockhoundgo.com.

Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under the GDPR and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to: • Access the personal information we hold about you • Correct inaccurate information • Delete your information • Object to or restrict certain processing • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format • Not be treated differently for exercising these rights To make a request, email privacy@rockhoundgo.com. We respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires.

We may update this policy as the app changes. For material changes, we will notify you in the app and by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
